Acer Unveils Iconia A1-810 iPad Mini ¡°Killer¡± With 7.9-Inch Screen and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean After making the dirt-cheap but fairly unimpressive Iconia Tab B1 available to take on the Nexus 7, Acer has unveiled another portable tab called Iconia A1-810. This is a little bigger than the B1, has more heat under its hood, but also a steeper price point, being obviously targeted against Apple¡¯s iPad mini. The 7.9-inch IPS display is, at least on paper, identical to iPad mini¡¯s panel, boasting the same decent, but not outstanding 1,024 x 768 pixels resolution. The 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8125 CPU inside the Iconia A1 will probably lag behind Apple¡¯s A5 chip, but at least it¡¯s going to maximize the performance of the decently sized 3,250 mAh battery. Moving on, we have a pretty cool 5 MP snapper fitted on A1¡¯s back, a VGA cam on the front, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of on-board storage. One of the key selling points will be the running of the latest and greatest Android version, 4.2 Jelly Bean, while from the design standpoint Acer¡¯s tab is a little chunky, but not ugly. The connectivity options include all the basics, from Wi-Fi to Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS, but also one unexpected extra ¨C a micro HDMI port. All in all, the Iconia A1-810 will have a tough time in breaking iPad mini¡¯s sales records, but at 199 ($259) in Europe, it¡¯s a steal. Already available in France, the device should start selling in other countries on the old continent soon, and, we hope, also in America. For more information, please visit cheap ipads happyed01466
