Logitech G700s Wireless Mouse Impressions
When I reviewed the G500s Gaming Mouse, I may have overstretched the idea that it would be the last gaming mouse you’d ever need. It’s a fantastic little guy with tons of bell and whistles to meet almost any of you gaming needs; however, it does have one slight downside — it’s still wired. However, Logitech has your back with the G700s Rechargeable Wireless Gaming Mouse!
I do my fair share of gaming lounging on the couch, and while the G500s is holds its own against other like it, there’s nothing better than getting rid of those pesky cords. The G700s does this while still giving you one hell of a great gaming experience.
As its wire-bound little brother, the Logitech G100s touts many of the same features including on the fly adjustable DPI settings, 13 programmable buttons, and duel-mode scroll wheel. It also has the same gritty, hydrophobic texturing for extra control. You can check it out my G500s review for the rest of the details but suffice it to say, the G700s is a kitted out little number and boast plenty of extras to love.
Using the mouse felt very intuitive and comfortable as all the major buttons are placed in easy to reach locations and have just enough push back so that you don’t accidentally press them. I also didn’t notice any drop in reporting as the Logitech G400s kept up with my spastic playstyle — so you elitist shooter fans shouldn’t fret about any skipping when lining up that perfect shot. Additionally, the extra buttons allowed me to map all my most used actions to free up my other hand from floundering around on a keyboard.
Set up is painless and quick. Simply insert the 2.4 GHz USB powered dongle into a port and you’re good to go. The included battery has a pretty impressive charge time — working for about for dozens of hours before needing a recharge. You can keep an eye on your charge with a small LED display. And if you happen to find yourself with a draining battery, plug in the micro-USB cord to keep gaming while also recharging the battery! It also has a pretty decent range, as I could still use the Logitech G700s across my apartment — so this mouse is a perfect combo with a wireless keybaord for a completely cord free experience.
